This isn’t a Gutsy Girls event, it’s just something we think you’ll love!
If you ask us how old our guests normally are, you’ll get a vague answer from us 18-70+ but there’s no upper limit; Gutsy Girls believes age doesn’t define you, adventure is ageless!
Jo Mosley living testament to this, having first stepped foot on a paddleboard at the age of 51 ‘I loved it the minute I stood up’ she and now is on a mission to encourage others to get outdoors, experience the joy of moment in nature and remind you that age should not stop you from pursuing your passions!
“We are never too old to do something wild and it’s never too late to make a difference”
In the summer of 2019 Jo became the first woman to paddleboard from coast to coast, a 162 mile journey from Liverpool to Goole, litter picking along route and raising money for charity. Jo’s epic adventure was captured in a documentary ‘Brave Enough - A Journey Home’ by the award winning filmmaker Frit Tam (go follow him too!)
To continue sharing her love of paddleboarding, Jo wrote her first book ‘Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Great Britain’ a fantastic resource and guide to SUP routes all over the UK, weaved in with stories from paddleboarders she meets along the way, including our great friends and Gutsy Girls Hosts Hayley and Jo at The Paddle Cabin and Michelle Ellison.
The Event
Jo is excited to be talking at Stanfords Bookshop and celebrating her debut book. Jo will be sharing all about her exciting journey from coast to coast, how she researched her book and much much more!
Even if you’ve never paddleboarded before, you’ll be inspired by Jo’s enthusiasm for the sport and how getting outdoors has been life changing for her wellbeing.
The tickets are £5 and include a glass of wine or soft drink.
The £5 ticket is also redeemable against the book purchases on the night!
This isn’t a Gutsy Girls event, we are sharing it with our community as we think it’s a fantastic event in London!
