Gutsy Girls London SUP Pricing and Returning Paddler Sessions

Changes to Gutsy Girls London Paddleboarding

Thank you for your patience while we’ve been getting everything ready for you to get back on the water with us in London. We’ve been working hard with our partners Active360 to make changes on how our sessions will work to get the most out of your time with us on the water.

Price Increase

Increasing our prices is not something we like to do and much thought and consideration is taken in doing so.

It’s been a very quiet 3 months for Gutsy Girls and our partners at Active360, with lockdown preventing us from running our sessions since mid-March, and we’ve had to make important changes to how we operate to ensure we follow social distancing guidelines.

This does mean our First Timer ‘Introduction to SUP’ has increased to £59 and our returning paddler sessions are now £35 or £45 with coaching.

Our pricing is now in line with the majority of paddleboarding schools and companies within London. We do not undercut other small businesses, particularly after such a long period of time when all our incomes came to a halt!

Book in confidence knowing you’ll receive expert coaching from our instructors on your ‘Introduction to SUP’ session and meet lots of like-minded new friends.

Returning Paddlers

Our returning paddlers used to join our Introduction to SUP Sessions. However this meant that you often had to wait for our dry land demonstration before getting on the water, cutting down the time you got to paddle which often meant moving at a slower pace.

This year we are excited to offer Hosted Group Paddles, open to those who feel confident in paddling and on the water. To join these sessions you must:

  • Be able to paddle standing up on your board

  • Turn your board

  • Know how to stop your board

If you don’t feel comfortable with this yet, you can join our Introduction Sessions again for £45.

Our Hosted Group Paddles are led by our super friendly and passionate Gutsy Girls Hosts, who’ll guide you on a 2 hour tour of the Thames or Canals.

Whilst our guides are confident paddlers themselves, they aren’t qualified instructors, so we ask that you assess your skills before joining these sessions.

Our Hosted Group Paddlers are all about meeting like minded women! It’s a social paddle, at a comfortable pace, and an opportunity to make the most of getting on the water this summer.

After our paddle session we’ll head to a local cafe or pub for a drink and have a chance to chat even more!

I’ve paddled before, do I need to join your introduction session before joining the Hosted Group Paddles?

Yes, it is a compulsory requirement to join our Introduction Session for £59, no matter your level.

We do this for a few reasons:

  • We can ensure your safety on the water. Paddling on the Thames and Canals can be different to open water or lake paddling. Our Introduction Session allows us to cover all the important safety aspects of paddling in these environments.

  • Our highly qualified coaches are able to assess your paddling and will have great advice to improve your technique. Every day is a school day!

  • Requiring attendees to join an introduction session before allowing rental of boards is standard practice across most paddleboarding schools and providers.

  • We like to say it’s kind of a ‘joining fee’, like a gym. This joining fee supports our small business.

  • While we strive for what we do to appear seamless and effortless, lots of time and planning goes into our events and there’s plenty of admin to be done!

  • We invest in our marketing to ensure that our sessions reach minimum capacity numbers. No one likes it when their session is cancelled because of low numbers. Also how will you meet your new adventure soulmates if there’s no-one else on your session?!

  • We’ve bolstered our hosting programme for Gutsy Girls this year. We will be offering personal development and coaching for our guides so we can deliver an even better experience for you, our community.

  • We are currently creating an action plan for how we can ensure diversity and inclusion in the outdoors. By joining us you are investing in the future of Gutsy Girls and helping us pave the way for the positive representation of women in adventure.

I kindly ask that you do not email us to request to skip this session and that you respect our reasonings for this.
