Experience the ultimate hiking holiday in the Spanish Pyrenees with five unforgettable days of trekking through breathtaking alpine landscapes. Our guided hiking vacation takes you deep into the heart of Valle de Tena and Ordesa National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its dramatic cliffs, lush meadows, and kilometre-deep canyons. Led by expert mountain guides, you’ll explore diverse trails, summit panoramic peaks, cross crystal-clear alpine lakes, and wind through ancient woodlands.
After a rewarding day on the trails, unwind in the charming mountain village of Biescas, where cosy accommodations, delicious local cuisine, and a well-earned dip in the pool await. With every detail taken care of—from lodging to carefully curated hiking routes—this adventure strikes the perfect balance between exhilarating trekking and well-deserved comfort.
Location
The Pyrenees form a rugged natural border between Spain and France, offering some of Europe’s most spectacular hiking. This region is a haven of unspoiled wilderness, with its towering peaks, sweeping valleys, and crystal-clear mountain lakes. The Ordesa-Vignemale Biosphere Reserve is a patchwork of vibrant meadows and jagged ridgelines, while Ordesa National Park, one of Spain’s oldest and most treasured, is home to vast canyons, tumbling waterfalls, and thriving biodiversity. Despite its status as a hiking paradise, this area remains an untamed treasure—wild, remote, and blissfully free from crowds.
The Hikes
Each day brings a new adventure, with routes tailored to the group’s ability and the ever-changing mountain weather. Our experienced guides ensure a flexible itinerary, selecting from an incredible variety of trails.
Ibon de Piedrafita – A peaceful mountain lake nestled beneath sheer cliffs, reached via a gentle woodland climb. Optional detour to a striking natural rock arch for an extra challenge. (10–12 km, 345–500m ascent)
Punta del Pacino (1965m) – A rewarding circular hike that loops around the valley, offering sweeping 360° views across the Pyrenees. (14 km, 750m ascent, with options to extend or shorten)
Balneario de Panticosa – A high-altitude trail winding past alpine lakes and up to the Bachimaña mountain refuge, with the option to explore further before descending via an alternative route. (14 km, 700m ascent)
Ordesa Canyon Rim – A spectacular final hike along the rim of the Ordesa Canyon, taking in breathtaking views of Monte Perdido and the surrounding 3000m peaks. A scenic 4x4 ascent ensures we start high, making the most of the dramatic landscape. (18 km, 460m ascent, shorter option available)
Guided Hiking
This trip is all about the joy of hiking. Each day, set out on a carefully curated route, taking in some of the most breathtaking landscapes the region has to offer. Tackle rewarding routes, refining your skills while soaking in the wild beauty of the Pyrenees. Expect a mix of steady climbs, rugged terrain, and exhilarating ridge walks that push your limits in the best way.
Led by expert mountain guides, the journey isn’t just about covering distance—it’s about building confidence and deepening connection with the outdoors. Along the way, we’ll refine hiking technique, learning how to use poles effectively, navigate uneven terrain, and maintain a steady rhythm over long distances. We’ll also gain practical navigation skills, from reading maps to using a compass, so we can venture further with confidence in the future.
And, of course, no guided hike would be complete without a deeper look at the landscape itself. Our guides will introduce us to the region’s unique flora and geological wonders, turning each step into an opportunity to learn, observe, and appreciate the natural world in a whole new way.
