If you choose to take a different flight and need to get from the airport into town by yourself, there is lots of information on getting to and from the airport here.
Alternatively you could look at flights to Venice and catch a bus to Ljubljana (approx 3h - see here for booking the bus from Venice to Ljubljana) - You'll likely need an extra night either side of the trip.
-
Careful consideration has been taken when arranging our trips and transfers. We have chosen flight times that maximise your time with us and offer the best value.
The majority of our guests do fly from London so we have planned our trip around these flight times.
You are welcome to fly from another airport to Ljubljana.
You could also look at flights to Venice and make your own way to Ljubljana.
We have three pick up and drop off points to try to make getting to us as simple as possible.
-
Pick up will be close to the train station; at the bus stop just across from the Go Opti (airport bus from Venice) stop:
-
Pick up and drop off will be the car park opposite the SPAR supermarket on the outskirts of Bled village:

We will connect you with others on the trip via WhatsApp before you depart, so you can arrange to meet at the airport before your flight, or join forces and make alternative travel arrangements.

We normally paddle in swimwear or sportswear. Remember a hat/cap and a long sleeved top that covers you in the midday heat!
If the conditions are cooler, we will provide a shorty wetsuit. If you have one, you might like to bring your own.
For our white water paddleboarding sessions, we will provide a drysuit/wetsuit and all the safety gear required!
Bring a raincoat just in case.
You'll need aqua shoes or wetsuit booties with a solid sole (not neoprene socks) for getting on and off your board in rocky conditions.
-
Canyoning involves following a mountain river into the gorge’s depths. The entire gorge is an enormous natural toboggan with pools, waterfalls and narrow stone passages. You might descend waterfalls with ropes or leap from ledges into emerald pools. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do, and it doesn’t require any prior experience. All you have to do is slide, jump and have fun! Grmečica means “thunder”. The canyon got its name from the sounds the river makes while winding through the narrow canyon. The gorge is unique with its very deep pools, the crystal clear water and its dark walls which create a special atmosphere.
-
We recommend hiking shoes or trail running trainers.
While the terrain will not be too challenging, for your safety and comfort you will need footwear with good grip.
-
You are welcome to opt out of any of our activities.
We do not provide a discount for any activities you do not take part in.
-
In the unlikely event that weather conditions prohibit us from paddling, we will arrange alternative activities - sadly we cannot control the weather but we can keep our fingers firmly crossed!
We will ensure there are fun activities for you to take part in even if the weather is not ideal, but we cannot provide refunds for a change of activities due to weather or other conditions outside our control.
None of our itineraries are set in stone - we will always move things around to make the most of the conditions we have on any given day.

Food & Accomodation
-
With all Gutsy Girls Adventures, we choose comfortable accommodation for a good night's sleep. It is clean, simple and provides us with a base for the evenings. Very little time is spent in the accommodation as we are busy adventuring all day!
For this adventure we'll be staying for two nights at a low-key 3 star family run hotel a short drive from Bohinj Lake, and then for one night at an authentic local farm which produces much of its own food and wine, before the final two nights in the Soca valley at a small family run 3 star hotel right next to the picturesque village square.
You can choose to have a private room throughout or to share a twin room with another Gutsy Girl.
