We are thrilled to offer a 4 night SUP and yoga retreat, an extra-long weekend escape for those with limited annual leave, mums wanting a shorter break or those looking to dip their toe into a new type of activity holiday!

The women only retreat is brimming with daily adventures exploring the beautiful coastline of Sardinia and stunning wilderness locations.

We’ll be exploring the western coast of Sardinia, with 56 miles of coastline and varied terrain. From sandy beaches to secluded bays, cliffs, mountains and rivers, it’s the perfect location to explore by water and land.

Each day we’ll explore a new location by stand up paddleboard or on foot. We’ll be paddling along the coastline on crystal clear waters and discovering hidden beaches or hiking ancient trails and getting into the wildest parts of Sardinia to reconnect with nature. We’ll challenge ourselves with Via Ferrata, climbing to new heights for beautiful views!

Our yoga instructor will lead us in three practises over the retreat, the Vinyasa based classes are dynamic and tailored to the individual so are perfect for all level yogis.

We’ll immerse ourselves in local culture through food; eating at fantastic local restaurants. Learn to make your own ravioli from real nonnas -Italian grandmothers - in our pasta-making workshop, and we’ll learn all about the history, carnival and geology of the area through a guided wine tasting.

Location

We’ll be staying in Bosa, one of Italy’s most picturesque towns. This pretty medieval town is set along the river banks of River Temo, with pastel coloured houses stacked along the hillside below its own castle. During the week we’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore the cobblestone streets and lively piazzas teeming with people enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine.

Our base will be a lovely 3 star hotel, with light and airy rooms. Choose from a private double room or opt to share a twin room with another Gutsy Girl.

Over 95% of our guests join our trip solo, with activity filled days and group dinners you’ll be in great company throughout the trip.

Activities

Stand Up Paddleboarding

This adventure is all about exploring beautiful wilderness and coastal locations by stand up paddleboard and on foot. Perfect for both beginner and experienced paddlers who want to improve their skills and explore stunning locations.

We’ll be paddling on the sea and a tranquil river, exploring beautiful coastlines, weaving our way through sea caves, playing in secluded bays, discovering hidden beaches and meandering into the countryside on our river tour.

Beginner Friendly

This paddleboarding holiday is great for beginner and novice paddlers!

If you’ve never been on a board before, our SUP instructor will get you up and moving in no time as we explore beautiful locations. We’ll paddle between 5km and 9km per day (3-5h sessions) at an easy going pace with plenty of breaks to take in the incredible surroundings.

More experienced paddlers are very welcome. Please note, the pace, skills, and distances will be tailored for beginners.

Hiking

We’ll be hiking to get off the grid and explore perfectly preserved wilderness locations, trekking to incredible view points and being immersed in nature, including a hike to our favourite cave that looks out over the bright blue water.

Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata is a protected climbing route, with a variety of steel cable rails, metal steps, ladders, suspension bridges and zip wires. Described as halfway between scrambling and rock climbing, Via Ferrata allow non-experienced climbers the opportunity to scale to new heights.

It’s an adrenaline pumping activity that we are excited to offer - you do not need previous experience or a high level of fitness or strength.

In the height of summer we may need to replace the Via Ferrata with aquatrekking if it is too hot to be out on the exposed climbing route all day! Aquatrekking is a bit like canyoning, where we explore a mountain river by walking, jumping, swimming and sliding in the river stream. It’s a great hot weather activity!

Yoga

Our fantastic yoga instructor will guide us in three practices, great for all level yogis.

Yoga is fantastic not only for improving flexibility, strength and balance (great for paddleboarding) it’s also a great way to unwind and reconnect with yourself.

Our yoga sessions will be in our studio overlooking the river.

Pasta Workshop

You’ll learn how to make your own ravioli from real nonnas; local grandmothers who’ll show you how to make pasta from scratch!

Fitness and Experience Level

  • Our adventures are active holidays, you’ll be moving your body for 4-5 hours each day to explore beautiful places. Our trips are not bootcamps, but to get the most out of the experience you’ll need a good level of fitness.

This trip is rated as relaxed to moderate.

  • Activity Duration: 4-5 hours of activities plus 1 hour of yoga most days.

SUP Distances: Journey between 5km and 9km on calm seas and rivers. Ideal for beginners and novice paddlers, with no prior experience required.

Hiking: Our hikes will vary from 3.5km to 10km, chosen based on weather, heat, and group energy. Trails range from easy to moderate.

Hiking Terrain: Navigate through uneven, rocky paths with loose stones underfoot.

  • Via Ferrata: Experience the thrill of climbing using ladders, steel handles, and foot holds without needing climbing skills or upper body strength. A harness ensures your safety.

Head for Heights: Our Via Ferrata adventure involves ascending and descending ladders. It’s a safe yet exhilarating challenge for those willing to test their limits.

Consecutive Activity: Prepare for 4 days of back-to-back activities, which can be demanding for some.

  • We’ll be staying in the Bosa Queen House, a lovely family run 3 star hotel in the heart of the old town. The rooms are light, spacious, have air conditioning and wifi.

The hotel has a rooftop terrace for guests too for guests to enjoy!

Choose from a private ensuite or a twin room. We’ll pair you up with another guest if you are travelling solo. As the hotel is small, we have very limited private rooms, so encourage you to book in asap if this is your preference.

  • Food is a beautiful way to experience local culture. In Sardinia, as in mainland Italy, food is an important part of daily life, being an opportunity to connect with friends and family.
